History
The idea of keeping records for the hunting results for the purposes of the every year data comparison with those of the previous years begins in 1880 about in Great Britain. The use of a questionnaire for the recording of hunting results from the state departments of hunting and fishing of U.S.A. and Canada, begins in 1937, a practice implemented since 1970 in Europe as well (France, Italy, Ireland, Germany, Spain etc).
In Greece, this project begun in 1994 with the imitative of P.E.V.E.K.E. and is continuing till presently from the H.H.C. the results of this program have been initially presented in the 22nd International Congress of the International Union of Hunting in Sofia in 1995, where the French specialists have called it as "…the most perfect recording system of hunting results in Europe".
The "Artemis" program has been presented in various International Congresses in Europe and Greece.
The data of hunting results with regards the condition of the hunting populations, derived from "Artemis", have been given from the H.H.C. to the following organizations:
- National Institution of Agricultural research
- Office National de la Chasse of France
- O.M.P.O. (Group for the study of migrant fowls of the West Palaearctic).
