Δενδρότσιχλα

(common names: Kirianrina, Gaidourotsichla)

The Mistle Thrush is 27cm long, and is a large thrush with dense mottling on the chest and underside. It is distinguished by the way it flies, as sometimes it flies beating its wings and at other times by half closing its wings and gliding. It is found in small flocks or alone. The underside of the wing is off-white. A migratory bird, it breeds in Northern Europe and comes to Greece in the autumn to overwinter, but also breeds in Greece in smaller numbers.
