Χουλιαρόπαπια

(Common names: Papatsoura, Dourdousa, Kasiktsis, Coutalas)

The Northern Shoveller is 51cm in length. The male and female both display a strange spoon-shaped bill which is visible at a distance. The drake has a dark green head, white breast and bold chestnut-red belly. The shiny green also distinguishes the female from the female Mallard. It is a winter visitor in Greece.
