Subject: Hunting provisions for the hunting year 2004- 2005
D E C I S I O N
1. The provisions of L.D. 86/69 " Forestall Code" (articles 251, 258, 259 and 261), L.D. 996/ 71 (art.11), L. 177/ 75 (articles 7 and 8), L. 2637/ 98 (art. 57, 58 and 59) and the no: 414985/ 29-11- 85 (GG 757/B/18-12-85) common decision of the Dep. Minister of National Economy and As. Minister of Agriculture "Measures for the maintenance of wild avifauna", as amended with the nos: 366599/16-12-96 (GG 1188/B/31-12-96) and 294283/23-12-97 (GG 68/B/4-2-98) common decisions of the Ministers of National Economy and Agriculture.
2. Article 255 of L. 86/69 as replaced with the article 57, par. 4 of L. 2637/98
3. The International Convention of Bern "For the maintenance of wild life and natural environment of Europe" as ratified with L. 1335/ 83 (GG 32/ A/ 13-3-83)
4. The International Convention of Ramsar "For the protection of the International interest wet lands" ratified with L. 191/1974 (GG 350/A/29-11-74)
5. The Convention of Bonn "For the maintenance of migrant species belonging to the wild fauna", ratified with L. 2719/99 (GG 106/A/26-5-99)
6. The Communal Directive 79/409/EEC "For the maintenance of wild fowls" and all further directives amending the initial one.
7. The Communal directive 92/ 43/ EEC "For the maintenance of natural habitats and the wild fauna and flora"
8. The decisions 399/93, 540/93, 641/93. 1174/94, 1592/98, 590/98, 2580/00, 1047/01 of the Council of State.
9. Article 29A of L. 1558/85 "Government and governmental servants "added with article 27 of L. 2081/92 (GG 154/A/10-9-1992)
10. The results of the meetings on 15-7-2004 with hunting and ecological organizations
11.The respective introduction of the competent Directorate of the General Secretariat of Forests and natural environment, based upon:
- The views or proposals submitted by certain regional services, certain O.T.A., hunting organizations, ecologic associations and third parties
- The available documented information, scientific data and studies, with regards the status of management of the enlisted in the list hunting species and more specific the data of the Scientific base ORNIS, which is a complete and updated study (September 2001), applying especially to the dates of nidus and migration of various species of avifauna in all communal countries.
- The service report titled "Study of the general situation of hunting species and the effect of hunting to their populations (July 1994) and "Study of the population status of certain water land fowls in Greece" (July 1995), updated with recent corresponding reports (September 1998 and February 1999).
12. The need for maintenance of populations of all species of wild fauna in satisfactory levels, to correspond to the ecologic, scientific and cultural demands, taking into account the financial and entertaining factors.
13. The Presidential Provision 121/2004 "Posting of Ministers and Deputy Ministers" (G.G. A' 84)
14. The 23064/15-3-2004 common decision of Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture "Assignment of duties to Deputy Ministers Evangelos Basiakos nad Alexandros Kontos (G.G. 525/B/23-4-2004)

- The effect of hunting period upon the hunting and fully protected species
- The danger of destruction or decrement of the population of each one of the hunting species in Greece.
- And the ability of poaching control
