Φασιανός

The Common Pheasant is 56-63cm long and is the size of a large hen. The male is unlike any other bird. It is brightly coloured with a dark green head and red combs around its beak. Its plumage is usually a dark blond colour in a variety of shades. The female is smaller, of a grey-brown colour and looks like a grouse from the plain. However, it can be distinguised by its long tail. An indigienous bird, it squawks noisily when lifting off the ground.
